Bull-bear stalemate persists, S&P 500 extends pullback from major resistance

U.S. stocks are lower early Wednesday, pressured amid pending signs of China-U.S. trade progress, or lack thereof, and ahead of the marquee monthly jobs report, due out Friday.

Against this backdrop, the S&P 500 has extended a thus far relatively orderly pullback from major resistance (2,817). As always, the downturn’s aggressiveness is worth tracking for acceleration.
